Jonathan Alston received a B.Sc. in Sociology with an emphasis on Deviance from Brigham Young University. He earned an M.A. in Criminology from Simon Fraser University studying the selection patterns of serial rapists. Alston was working towards a PhD in Criminology but his studies were interrupted in 2000 when he joined th Edmonton Police Service's Intelligence Analysis Unit. He is currently assigned to the Sexual Assault Section.
